UX design

UX design for websites and online shops

UX design begins where the customer hesitates.

People will visit your website. But can they quickly work out what to choose, why to trust you and how to proceed? I’ll identify where their decision-making process gets stuck and suggest specific changes.

Do you recognise your website?

Customers often don’t walk away because of one major mistake. They are left without an answer at the very moment they are due to make a decision.

  • People visit the website, but few of them make a purchase or get in touch.
  • The customer has plenty to choose from, but doesn’t know what’s right for them.
  • People are asking for information that you already have on your website.
  • On a mobile phone, it’s easy to lose your way when trying to place an order or find a contact.
  • You’re planning a redesign, but you’re not sure what the changes are meant to address.

If you already know what you need to sort out, Please send me a link to the website and a brief description →

What is the problem?

Find the point where people hesitate. To understand why. Come up with a better way.

I browse the website from a customer’s perspective and, depending on the situation, I draw on data from GA4, recordings from Clarity and comparisons with competitors. First, I separate what is visible from what we currently think the cause might be. Then we can decide what to adjust first.

How does this work in practice?

I’ll start with the question the customer is facing.

Online tool shop

The staff in the shop will be able to advise you. The online shop simply lists the categories.

For a tool e-shop, I designed a navigation structure based on profession and landing pages that help customers choose a complete set, rather than a single item.

Icebreaker

What’s the deciding factor when choosing outdoor clothing?

I worked on a UX audit, SEO analysis and HTML/CSS modifications for the online shop. The connection between how people arrive at the site, what they find there and how they make decisions is crucial.

Papera

To help customers find their way around the range.

For an online shop selling stationery and office supplies, I handled the UX, SEO and HTML/CSS modifications. Work on a website doesn’t have to stop at the design stage.

How can we get started

Different situations require different levels of intervention.

You don’t need to know in advance whether you need an audit or a new website design. Choose the option that best matches your issue; we’ll work out the scope together.

A quick UX audit of an online shop

When you want specific areas to be fixed and don’t want to wait for a complete redesign.

  • 10 UX problems and proposed solutions
  • Priorities and 3 wireframes for key areas
  • A joint walk through the output

UX audit with competitor analysis

When you need a broader perspective on the website, the customer and the way they decide between you and your competitors.

  • Analysis of the website’s weaknesses
  • A comparison with competitors in the context of your market
  • A basis for deciding what to change

Structure and wireframes

If you already know that a key page needs to be updated, or if you’re preparing a new website.

  • A clear structure of the information and the next step
  • Design of key pages prior to graphic design
  • Guidance for designers and developers

What you’ll take away from the job

Decisions based on what is happening on the website.

  • You’ll find out where customers are hesitating and what we don’t yet know.
  • You’ll be given a list of priorities: what to deal with now and what can wait.
  • You’ll have a basis for further work on the website, even if someone else carries it out.
What happens after the report

You can start with a single sentence and a link to the website.

1.

Please describe what you’re not happy with

Simply send us the website address and let us know where you think customers are hesitating or leaving the site.

2.

I’ll suggest a suitable opening

I’ll tell you what I’d check first, what scope makes sense, and what you can expect from me.

3.

You’ll receive useful materials

Depending on the service agreed, this will consist of findings with priorities or a proposal that your developer or agency can also use.

Next step

Send me the link to your website. We’ll have a look to see where it makes sense to start.

You don’t need to choose a service in advance. Just describe the problem in your own words; I’ll get back to you with a suggestion for the first step.
